Intergenerational project bringing together older women and refugee girls
Intergenerational project bringing together older women and refugee girls
The PhotoBooth project is a collaboration with photographer & film-maker Rod Morris, set up, initially as a teaching tool and then we were commissioned to work with a variety of institutions to make portraits of particular community groups in London. The PhotoBooth is a pop-up studio, using a black backdrop and can be assembled in a variety temporary locations.
The PhotoBooth has been commissioned for community, cultural events and educational workshops including: PhotoMonth East End Photography Festival, My Neighbourhood Aldgate East, Brick Lane Festival, Tower Hamlets East London Federation of Suffragettes, Dulwich Picture Gallery-intergenerational project working with young refuge girls and older women residents in Dulwich), Whitechapel Gallery – introduction to portraiture; London Transport Museum, The New East London Line exhibition: London Legacy Agency-Jo Cox celebration event, Olympic Park and Wimbledon Tennis Museum – engaging with hard to reach groups in Merton. Recently we were asked to run the PhotoBooth in Hackney as part of the local Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
